Lister Liberty Lithium Battery Pack

Bought the above clipper set just over 3 years ago. Only used them a couple of times but didn’t like them as much as my 35 year old Aesculap! However, would now like to give them another go and the battery won’t hold charge. Presume it’s because I left it to die in the tack room.

Question is, having unscrewed the belt attachment from the battery pack, there doesn’t seem to be any way to actually access the cells, has anyone opened the unit up and done a re cell themselves?

Doesn’t matter if it fails, got nothing to lose but would prefer not to cause an explosion.

Have you looked on line, or asked Lister about a replacement pack? Might save a lot of strife.

There is somewhere that does a re cell service for something like £80. The new pack (without charger etc) is around £130, the whole lot with charger is in excess of £200. Fancied having a fiddle with it myself tbh.

This happened to mine and having worked out the cost l decided to use with mains electricity instead. You can buy a new battery and the attachment but it works out quite expensive.

It’s crazy money really as I’m sure I’ve found the correct cells under £10 for 2. Need to find a way into the unit though

I have put a new set of batteries in mine, it was the older classic that I was recelling though.

Yes, you can do the classic yourself but they’ve made the lithium one as a sealed unit. I think it’s slservice that offer the re cell on the new ones so there must be a way to get into it.
Going to have a tinker later today.

If they are lithium cells, please be careful lithium batteries are very dangerous if you damage the casings. They can go off like small bombs and are very hard to put out.

I dropped my battery pack and it stopped working so I bought the electric lead much cheaper

I have an old car battery and then a lead which I brought online which goes from the battery and clip into my liberties. I had the same problem with my battery not lasting a clip. Instead of £90/100 I think it cost me £20 with postage
