Well following from post re dog probably ill from being given something he shouldn't eat, he is in the emergency vets for the second time.
Finding it hard to deal with after losing horse as well. Just hope he will recover. These vets bills are becoming too much, apart from the emotional trauma.Im beginning to feel like not getting any more animals.

Just spoken to dogspital, he has eaten a tiny amount but that's the first in two days. The house is so empty I keep talking to him then realise he's not here. The suspected food giver rang me to ask about the horse and was shocked when I said dog was at emergency vets. Then said, I hope its nothing I did. Well Im pretty sure it was! Im not letting dog out of my sight again if he comes home, if I ever go away again I will take him. This is another reason for me to try and find a second dog .

Glad to hear your little guys eating a little hopefully he's turned a corner in all this! Did they decided if it was pancreatitis or enteritis in the end?

People are incredibly frustrating when it comes to dogs diets and feeding them specific food's for medical reasons. Its very very common to see the same dogs repeatedly ill because someone decided they had been doing so good on the food..so it was time for a change/go back to giving treats.

If you have a sensitive dog and find a food thats works stick with it....generally change is a bad thing. I cant imagine how frustrating it must be to provide food, explain why and still have the minder decide to feed them extra's that do this much harm.

As a general rule however - sensitive dogs and pork do not mix. Pork generally sausage/ham or fatty cuts is one of the most common triggers for Gi and pancreatic issues I've seen...might be just coincidence and simply due to the fats in pork versus some of the other cuts of meat...but I don't feed my dog pork all the same bar ears.

Im in despair now, have collected him, but could see he wasn't himself, Have tried to get him to eat and he wont and hes just taken himself off into a corner again. Im now thinking the worst.

It's always worrying when they are like that but surely they wouldn't have okayed him to come home unless he was on the mend? Some dogs just need quiet to heal and no food to rest their system. Everything crossed he is doing what is right for him

Hopefully he needs some peace and quiet. He probably won't have rested properly in the vets. We don't feel like eating if we have been ill so give it a bit of time.
As long as he drinks that's the main thing and hopefully when he's rested he will feel like eating.

I do remember my little greyhound being in the vets after having her leg amputated, she was skin and bone and the lovely vet nurses were doing everything to get her to eat. As soon as she came home she went straight back to normal and started eating really well - fingers crossed that your little one will be the same

He is still flat out on the sofa. Not interested in anything, I fear damage may have been done that's not going to recover. Decided if he is going to go its best at home.

He has rallied a bit !!!!! Has eaten some chicken in gravy and a bit of rice but I have to hand feed. Wont drink anything though which is a bit worrying, but hopefully he will be ok for a w hile after being hydrated at the vets. Is showing more interest and his tail is up a bit. I was dreading getting up this morning. One upside oddly is that its taken my mind of losing the horse while Im stressing about him.

Glad to hear he has eaten a little
Boiled chicken and pasta will get some fluids in to him if he will eat a bit now and then, i know its not enough but at least its something
Fingers crossed he continues to improve xx

so sorry to hear his still not eating:( fingers crossed for you x

I don't know what yours has eaten but a friends dog ate chocolate a few weeks back and he was really ill thought they would loose him but he did after several days pick up and his much better now.
