normal woofwear brushing boots on the front

and N.E.W equine airoflow boots on the back

after 20 mins or so of work.... the fronts were warm to touch and sweaty down the tendons.

the hinds were cool and sweat free!!!

will definately be purchasing a front set for him now:cool:

that's good to know. i've got a couple of pairs of the NEW airflow ones and use them daily, they're excellent. i know some people say they're a bit flimsy looking but i've found them very hardwearing, well up to the job.

yup - i bought them for day to day use, instead of brushing boots, but it is the airoflow xc boots i got. I only have the hinds so far and they dont have any sort of rigid strike pad, just a kind of thicker leather bit. Tbh, Id still stick to my prolites for XC as i think the protection they offer is really good. But im really loving the fit and performance of the N.E.W's as a day to day boot or for sj. Obviously i havent seen the fronts yet (shopping here i come) but i believe they do have strike guards? I also tried the trizone airflows but sent them back as they werent a good fit and rubbed- my RI told me she found the same with her horse.

I tried them and thought they would rub too :(

Does anyone use the NEW airflow boots on a sand & rubber school? I'm looking for some new brushing boots but need some that won't allow the surface to get up inside the boots as ours is pretty loose. I get little rubber chips up under the strike pads of my fetlock boots and that can't be good! Do they fit fairly close?

I've heard good things about the new Equilibrium Tri Zone All sport boot - keeps everything cool and non sweaty and doesn't let school surface in. Worth a look?

see, ive never had the horses legs sweat up from the woof boots - but he sweated up with the air cooled PE ones...

And he is a sweaty betty!

those are the ones i got and they rubbed pretty badly tbh

I have also used the tri-zone ones and rubbed mine and my friends horses legs so much!
I'm using premier equine ones at the mo but might invest in some N.E.W ones :)

just to play devils advocate here- how do you know that his front legs arent sweatier than the backs anyway? In the interests of a fair trial can you do one of each boot front and back and then swap over and ride again and see if the air cooled boots still create less sweat on whatver leg?!:)

good point! i dont have the aircooled fronts yet... BUT I have been using the woofwear brushing boots all round for schooling for a while and he definately sweats and heats on all 4 legs. It was that that had prompted me to get a pair of the airoflows and try this.... after schooling in the woofwears i was finding myself washing down all 4 legs. sorry - should have explained that better in my first post.
