Little fatty!

I might do a couple of laps of the field instead of lunging!! how far do you generally go?

Lol to start no more than a mile which give or take is five laps round a football pitch which I think is an acre ish? - power walking is good and interval training so walk fast for a minute and then run fast for another then slow jog then walk - good for keeping it interesting and chuck lots of turns in :-)

Oh nice!

Not massive huge but a bit porky!!!! Nice nag. Nice coat and nice face.

And your no size zero but not that fat bloody hell - your head is tipped in pic so that wont help your view of yourself but your legs are nice and slim :-)

Look nice ! Best of luck tho but you will get there as you want to :-)

I'll keep you posted xx thank you

Mmm looks lovely ~ personally from that pic i wouldn't worry about too much coming off as she will grow upwards yet.

That pic may be deceiving

thank you! i think shes a beaut but im a little biased ;)

Yeah im a little bit weary of her possibly having a growth spurt as she is a little bum high, but i think id rather get on top of it as id hate to risk lami :)

Nice youngster :)

I personally don't think you are doing too much , and as he/she is practically 4, I really don't see a problem .

A good doer is cheap to feed thats for sure :D :p

Hacking and long reining along with possible strip grazing if you can do that (no idea if your horse is at home or if you are on livery etc etc ) .

Good luck :)

Your plan sounds good to me. I've just had my coblet backed and he was going out for 30-45 minutes hacks on ma-HU-sive hills 5 days a week, sometimes led and sometimes with a rider, and he's fine. Came home yesterday and took him for a hack today and I think he found it a doddled, don't have any hills that compare to what he was learning on lol!

I'm planning on hacking him out 5 times a week for 30-45 minutes, possbily swap for some lunging, and he's rising 4 also, but I don't think this will be too much for him. He likes being out and about and loves having something to do. I think as long as you don't do too much too soon, you'll be fine, and give your regime a chance to work (I know, it's a real pain and patience isn't my virtue either!!) :)

Thank you!! thought it was a bit of a mistake posting this at first! its great to hear nice feedback about Mare and my fitness regime

She's the same age (and birthday!) as my boy :D

He's hacked out for up to 2hrs a couple of times a week BUT very little of it's ridden. I'll get on and ride for 5-10min then hop off and walk for a good while.

Their back is the very last thing to finish growing and at 4yrs old the vertabrea will still be actively growing. Their legs stop at about 3yrs old. So whilest he's up for plenty of walking, sitting on his back for boy length of time isn't a good plan.

If was fitter and less lazy I too would be out jogging with him!
