Which of these TB's (if any) were Top Class Racehorses (pretty much champion) and/or are Top Class/Champion Sires?

For a man made breed, with a closed stud book, I do think it's interesting the variations within the breed......

Too uncertain to stick my neck out and make a guess; the big meaty ones could be good sprinters and even the weedy insignificant ones obviously didn't stay entire on looks, so...

I think you should give us a clue; like, how many were top class and over what distances, and let us try to pick them out. I'm too cowardly to guess without a bit of a push.

Great post, by the way.

number 8?
Is number 6 John Henry or is it a brood mare therefore a red herring? Are they all American TBS. M. PS, I did try to turn over to discover the answers but for some reason couldnt manage to do so

LOL - OK.

In no particular order.

One is of no significance as a racehorse, though is bred well and is young.

Another is an American Triple Crown winner and was a phenominal sire.

Another was a phenominal racehorsein Europe and ran once in the US, making his mark as a sire!!

Another was World Champion 2yo, though fell to peices at 3.

Two have stood for the world's highest stud fees and are thought of as sires of sires and good broodmare sires too!!

Another was a good racehorse, but a truely fantastic sire!

Another won the 2000 Guinneas.

Another was a multiple Group 1 winner.

Another showed alot of tallent as a racehorse before breaking his knee and retiring to the breeding paddocks, to become one of the world's most influential sires - as both a sire of broodmares and a sire of sires.

Another was a good performer in Graded stakes in the US and has become an awesome sire - we Europeans like his stock. And as an aside, I've never met a nasty horse by him!!

Two share the same broodmare sire - an American Triple Crown winner, though NOT the one pictured

One was a decent Group Stakes winner/performer in Europe, but not been a success at stud.

Think that'll do for clues

LOL She'd better be; she's just cost me £90 in vets bills! Perhaps I should take her down to the bookies with me & get her to earn her keep. (Would they send for the men in white coats do you think?)

Actually, 3.5 out of 10 is a relief. I was expecting 0.

Is there a reason we can't see the knees in the pic you're stood in?
