Poor little chap, although I have to say he looks perfectly happy

. Young lad got on him yesterday and walked to the paddock and he (pony) just looked wrong behind. So hoiked the poor lad off (let him ride Little Cob instead) and tried to trot up LL.

He was lame behind, very small amount of heat and a little bit of swelling in near hind fetlock. Cold hosed both hind legs (sometimes I get leg lameness confused, so err on the side of caution!). Left him in. Walked him out today. Slightly worse.

Rang my lovely vet today. So he's on box rest 'till Wednesday, Bute today and tomorrow. Call vet again on Wednesday and report. She thinks it's a sprain. He's not in tons of pain (quite happy to troll about eating the carpark grass

). Hubby is rolling his eyes. Sharer had just told me that she's not sure about sharing him as he aint a firt pony - lead rein or second pony lol.

Ah well. Ponies! Don't y'just love 'em

Hope he gets better and it's just a sprain - you know what bloody horses are like in the field....they seem to all be going nuts at the moment!

Thankies folks

. Yup, have a Hairy Gang and the odds are that one of them will be wonky

Poor Little Lad, I'm going to have to do something with him - when he's sound!

PR - I was thinking that only today

. The mares were hooning around like loons on legs. Thought I was never going to catch the Dizz (good job she's a sucker for a carrot lol).

LL normally stays out of the giddy stuff, takes away eating time

, but new horses going into the herd so he may well have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, daft bat.
