I got one of the standard Likit hangers, which my horse loves - then I accidentally bought Little Likit refills, thinking they'd work with it (though they only fit in the ball attachment of the Boredom Breaker).

I've looked to see if I could buy the ball as an 'add on' instead of buying a whole new thing, but no dice... so, being a bit thick here, can anyone suggest how I could still get some use out of the Little Likits rather than wasting them? They seem a bit small to leave on the floor for him (plus the plastic outer won't come off). Any ideas?!

Could you not heat it up very slightly so you could make a hole through the centre and flex it to get it out of the plastic? Just an idea, I have no idea if it will work !

Hmm, it's a bit like chalk so I'm not sure how well it'd handle heat! Perhaps warm water would soften the plastic, though - I'd just have to be careful not to soak the inside :)

Put them in an over the door feed bucket?
That'd probably work... if I had one! It's a bit small for him to kick around the floor loose (and he'd probably kick it out under the door!) and I don't want to leave him with a bucket in there. Hmmm.

I dunno why they don't sell the balls separately. Looking at them, they wouldn't even work as independent attachments since the ball is locked on to the central post of the main likit with a closed ring, it's not clipped on as a separate attachment. Strikes me they're missing out on sales to people like me who go for the cheaper option first and then wish they could enhance it :D

Might you be able to get a ball at a local equine car boot or tack sale?

Otherwise you have to stand there and hold it!

Looking at the pictures, I don't think the balls attach and detatch, they're fixed to the centre post of the part above with a closed ring - genius! I suppose I could keep an eye out for an entire unit... though mine is so mauled already I dunno that anyone would think it worth selling a used one!

You laugh, but I can imagine this happening...
