i was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what could be wrong with my mare?
she is not happy when being ridden, she feels tense and sort of cocks her head to one side and her ears go all funny, sort of floppy and she looks really sore.
have had teeth done, tack is fine, chiro says she is sore up in her poll area, vet has her on anti inflammatories and prednisalone and is pushing for a bone scan.
she had xrays of poll and neck taken which show nothing, she is sound, not lame in any way.
she is fine when in the stable and out in field but will start to show signs of pain when being lunged or ridden. it maybe wont happen striaght away but will be more noticable in trot and canter.
on the current regimen of pills she is less sore but i feel it is just masking the symptoms and when these are reduced she will be back to square one.
any thoughts on this? emma.
