Met a friend this afternoon for a hack at the livery yard she keeps her horse on. They have an indoor school. I had to wait for my friend to finish tacking up for a few minutes so, as the door was open to the school, I cheekily stepped inside to see what she was like.
OMG, she was brill!!!!!!!! Only rode in there for under 10 minutes, but she was so forward and willing. Responsive and not at all lazy. I enjoyed those few short moments before hacking re-commenced!
So, now I'm thinking it's not a schooling issue, just a schooling on grass problem? Perhaps she only sees those fields as food. Although to be fair, I don't ride in the actual areas she grazes. We ride in Talis and Dinker (my two geldings) paddock as it's nice and flat.
