Little ponys lame.....but can't figure it out

Right here goes.. the lil man came in last night fine but as he walked into his stable he slammed on the anchors and lifted his hind leg right up held it there for a few second put it down walked into stable lame for a couple of strides then was fine

he came out after tea walked him trotted him out no lameness he cantered off into field no lameness (he also has no heat no swells.and nothing in his hooves) so thought it was something or nothing UNTIL tonight he did exactly the same thing but coming in from the field...lame a couple of strides then fine...when he webt back out he was fine watched him for a good hour and he didnt do it again

I had a small pony a few years ago who went lame like this. In her case it turned out to be luxating patella (sp)
She had to have a op but was fine afterwards might or might not be the same thing. I would get the vet out to see him.
 
Upward fixation of the patella? Is he young? The stifle locks - usually seen in youngsters - they can outgrow it as they muscle up - I'm no expert but this might help
