little quiz - which is the expensive bit in the picture, can you tell?

it took a bitting expert to explain the difference to me, but now i know what to look for, it's so obvious, i could kick myself.
so, these nearly-identical bits are both mine. one cost about £15 new, the other cost about £50. the metal's slightly different, but that isn't the point of the post. can you tell which is the much better made bit, and why?
apologies if pic comes up enormous, i'm a bit rubbish at this.

the secret's in the sides of the bit, where it meets the cheeks. if you look at the second one, those parts are smooth and rounded barrels, so will not tear the horse's lips even if he's a real puller etc. the other bit has the bobbles/links start much closer to the sides of the bit, so would be sharper and more likely to cause tearing to the corners of the mouth.

and this isn't me being "holier than thou" cos i really didn't know till it was pointed out to me.
