I've had my little chestnut mare for nearly 4 months now and i decided we were going to a show! As you do.
Morning was a complete disaster (broken phone, pony shut herself in the gate, panic attack) but eventually we got it together and hacked down to the show. We arrived 4 hours early for the ridden veteran! 4 hours.... So decided to do in hand veteran instead.
Well that was the best decision I've made in a while. The judge pulled us in for 1st place, said she was a lovely mare, just needed to be a tad forward but lovely manners and she wanted to see us ridden next year. I was too busy being lost for words to say anything else! May have had a bit of eye leaking.
Cannot fault my pony, she behaved perfectly, was untacked, led about, came to the burger van with me etc, had cuddles with all the kids, dogs and friends.
Just hacking home we had issues with the bench, the motorbike, the cone, the sign.......
