So as with everyone else actually getting to ride has been a bit hit and miss last few weeks. I was especially worried in run up to CHristmas as for my sisters christmas present i had planned to pay for her to go hunting on Blue. Despite working with horses she's never had a horse to take and B loved it when i took him last year. The snow and ice thawed enough for them to go luckily and a fab time was had by all....can safely say hunting is his most favourite thing ever (after food
) and he adored it.
Obviously showed as i had two seperate people come and ask me about him and if he was for sale...one man was quite persistant and gave me his business card incase i changed my mind.
......Something to threaten B with i think
Today i waddled off to Duckhurst for some trailblazers show jumping. After everyones helpful replies to my post the other day aboiut him hating jumping indoors i've decided to keep the fences small and just get him going forwards. I've been studying some videos of his last rounds eventing sj this season when he was flying round and the first few indoor shows this winter...we look totally different!!!
V nervous today after last couple of dodgy outings but i shouldn't of worried. I thought about nothing but sending him forwards like i do outdoors into the big bouncy canter he loves to jump from but is so hard to get indoors. He really responded and jumped fab.....just one off (same jump!!) in 85cms and 95cms so very pleased with him!!
I've been putting so much pressure on myself to be jumping 1m's and 1.05m's before March and its totally unnecessary!!!! I'm going to have fun jumping 3ft to keep him ticking over...on a good day i'll do a bigger class and if he's sticky i'll go home happy after 1 round.
Fairly dull post i grant you so i'll liven it up with a couple of pics of him out hunting on Christmas eve....
AT the meet...
Smiley rider and pony after a couple of lines....
And when he arrived today (just 'cos he's cute!)....he was so excited and looking for hounds when i opened the lorry...
