I hope you wont be offended if I say PLEASE do feed him most carefully. I have experience of terribly thin ponies through doing equine charity work and the great problem is organ failure a few days after starting to pick up.[ something to do with the organs not being able to deal with the nutrition]. So ,please consult your vet carefully.

He is being fed under supervision (in fact at the moment he is only getting ad lib hay, and 1/2 hour in hand grazing twice a day).
He is on pink powder, and also a broad spec multi vit.
He starts vacs shortly, once the lice are under control (another ivermectin jab in two weeks), though he has had a tetenus to be sure he is covered.
He was very chipper this morning, and called as we came in. All he needs to do now is put on weight, get shot of his back packers and just enjoy being a baby!
I am now off home to grab a camcorder and will upload the results later.

Oh my god, i cant believe this story!! How sad. But a HUGE well done to you and your husband, this little chap will be so happy with you, im glad he will now have a forever home

Crikey Joanne, I know we all asked for updates but I never thought that in just 24 hours you would be updating us with this amazing improvement

You would hardly recognise him as the same pony!

Thank God that there are people like you and your OH in this world to counterbalance the low lifes who would treat an animal like this.

Can't wait for the next update - hugs to Stig
