So, its been 6 weeks, and the small fellow has come on in leaps and bounds. His burns are healed, he is starting to fill out, and that cheeky nature that all small ponies seem to have in abundance emerges a little more, be it pogo'ing (his favorite pastime) or chucking himself on the floor like a toddler mid tantrum. He has aquired a special friend in Fleur (one of the foals) though at some point a small friend his own size will be sought out. For now he is just happy to groom Fleurs shoulders where he can reach!
We discovered quite quickly he doesnt like dogs. The only time he has shown a nasty side was pinning Bear to the floor with feet and teeth!
That said, he loves human company, though he remains wary of men other than his dad and men he see's on a daily basis.
There is a long way to go, but we ARE getting there!
so.....
Six weeks ago he looked like this...
Two weeks later he looked like this.....
1st time out in the field.....
And today.....
And having an itch....
And the face when someone does the itching for you!!!
He is monitored weight wise, and fed hay ad lib, and very small meals of hifi with a smidge of sugar beet now.
He is also now allowed out for the mornings weather permitting!
