I love everything about my horses but some small things that stick out and they are so sweet it almost brings a lump to my throat
Anyway here are just a few ~ whats yours

the way they chunner in the morning

the way they show affection to each other in the field then show it towards me

one of mine licks me
smile.gif

the way they gallop across a field when called

how mares guard over their foals

foal tail flicks and foaly smells

god i could go on.........

i love everything about ted
The way he neighs.. its very unusual
The way he has to be fed in the morning or youll get not peace
The way he wiggles his leg in the air when hes eating.
The way he sticks his head in any pram that comes near him.

I'm absle to appriciate this a lot more now I'm away and don't have him so close- because all of Tom's horses are a bit boring compared to my coloured.
The way he notices me.
The way he comes for a little snuggle in the crook of my arm.
The way he looks at me, like he actually does understand it all.
I miss my little man a lot right now.

OMG i love foal smells aswell- my baby smells lush!!

I love the fact when i turn out my lot- if i walk in the field they will follow me.. if i run, they trot after me.

Its very sweet.

Tigger...the way he thinks he 18hh...Mr Attitude...he's 36ins
Jasmine...she's such a drama queen...she flicks her head so hard I swear one day it'll fall off!!
Holly... ears always pricked...always watching you
Jack...my dreamboat...he'd get in the car and come home with me if I let him
Benji...new to us but has fit in a dream... pulls faces you wouldn't believe but a real softie

The way she stops eating and pops her head up with her ears pricked, wags her leg at you if she smells polo's.t

The way she pretends to be all im going to bite you, when shes big softy. And when i sit in her stable and she pulls my woolly hats off my head and plays with the tassles!

I love my horse because:

every time he jumps he jumps the height of the wings (literally!!)

he tries SO hard for me
laugh.gif

He is SUCH an oddball

Even though he has his own personal vet due to him trying to commit suicide in the field every so often, i still love him

The way he will never walk over me and walks over everyone else
grin.gif

never makes a fuss, always happy and pleased to see you

is a super hacker

him and i have a great bond

and I love the way he tries to hug me when I'm plaiting and falls asleep when i stroke his ears

I love my Horse

Rosie- just the way she looks at me.
her super fast bum wiggling walk (if there were walking races this girl would win)
the way she pulls her top lip back and sticks her head in the air when you give her a polo!

Target- how she's putty on your hands after she's been ridden or lunged.
the grumpy faces she pulls before she's ridden.

I love the way Rosie comes trotting/cantering over from the field and the i think it is adorable when she puts her head down from me when i brush her face, put her bridle on and plat her forlock

when Ben comes trooting over from the field,
when he calls out for his food when i arrive at 5 am in the morning and the way he swings his front feet about when he is eating,
the way his top lip searches around my treat pocket
smile.gif
:)

Whisk...the way he kicks 7 sorts of hell out of his stable door if I am a millisecond too long with his feed.
The way he eats carrots out of my pocket...without taking them out of the pocket first...yuck
Haddy...the way he looks up when I call him and then stands there whilst I trudge across 8 acres to catch him.
Only joking there are good things I love about them.

aww what a sweet post,

For annie, shes a moody mare so I like it even more when she sticks her nose over the stable for cuddles.
When she sticks her head between Hs back legs to keep the flies off.

For H, hes such a good boy, I like the fact he has respect for me.
The way he always pulls his rug off the gate when Im tacking up.
The way he lifts his leg when dinner is ready, and the fact even at 17.2 he will find a way to get into any open door and look for food.

-The way he waves his leg whilst eating.
-When I ever use boots on him he takes them off his front feet when I go to do his back ones.
-The way he has tried to eat his knee boots, pull up and worry when his leg follows his head.
-Because he tries his heart out for me.
-When he does a massive stretch some mornings I think he is just going to fall over (leans all the way back with his legs stretched out in front of him)
-The way he picks his feed bucket up and just holds it in his mouth.
-That he obviously loves me so much as soon as it rains he walks behind me so I get wet

Don't this has made me cry already

Sometimes I think I love Saf too much

I love the way she gives kisses with her ears flat back
grin.gif

I love the way if I am talking to someone she will pull her rugs and head collar of the door and peg and chuck them on the floor
grin.gif

I love the way she begs with her front leg
grin.gif
(bad habit taught with one pack of polos and 4 years later can't stop her

)
I love her smell

I have to add

Ditto with the smell ~ i love the way he smells just behind his ears.

i love the way they make us love them, they get into our blood and become part of our soul.

i love the way there always there on good days and sad days and are the sholder i most trust to cry on.

the way they dont judge me and accept my faults.

i love the way they make me feel when im around them.

and they know when im unwell.

blimey, thousands of things, all the more worse for having lost her nearly 7 months ago

galloping across to me when called
going into a neighing frenzy whenever i arrived at the yard and whistled to her
the way she would 'beg' for pretty much anything, and the fact i taught her that at the riding school YEARS before and that she remembered it
always knowing how she felt by the look on her face - happy, ill, uncomfortable, bored etc
the way she would constantly fidget when tied up whilst mucking out until she could get back in for a wee
smile.gif

the fact she would hate to poo outside of the field or stable - excellent in the school
smile.gif

having the softest muzzle in the known universe
the way she came out of the riding school as miss independent with no personality to having the biggest personality on the yard and being an exhibitionist about loving her mum
her eyes
her cheeky nature
the fact that she went from an absolute cripple for first 2.5 years that i had her to flying around a 10 mile sponsored ride at the age of 26!!
the colour of her tail, it was beautiful, people would pay a FORTUNE to have the colours she did!
her perfect chestnut coat, rich, deep and luxurious but not orangey/dull
the tiny patch of roan on the inside of her right hind long pastern
her cantankerous and playful nature right up to the last

i always used to say that it was the imperfections that made her perfect for me so...
about 2 hands too short!
chestnut mare! ( i adore them by the way, but going by fables...)
long back, narrow chest, poor conformation overall
it took me so long to be able to have her
crazy sticky up mane!
the little dents in her knees where they clearly got broken at some stage in life
the scars on her hind pasterns from shipping from Denmark when she was younger
her missing tooth
smile.gif

her pony sized feet

I LOVE MY PONY AND I DON'T CARE WHO KNOWS ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!

what a lovely thread, this has really really made me smile
smile.gif

Just that she's so good at being a horse!
The way when a pheasant spooks up from a hedge and she shies mid gallop she manages to move her body in such a way that I don't fall off!
How, despite being a big horse, she will willingly squeeze through small gaps or climb over things which are too tumbledown to be jumped.
The fact that she is a big horse and looks difficult to ride when in fact she is secretly a child's pony!
How she poos round the very edge of her stable so she does'nt have to lie or stand in it.
How she shakes out and organises her own hay.
How she scratches my back for me but only with her nose, never her teeth (if I scratch hers)
How she lets me climb on her without fidgeting from various strange objects as I can't mount her from the ground

I love the smell behind my boys ears too, and the smell of his soft warm nose!

I also love the fact that he wickers every time I arrive at the yard.
And when we are out on hacks he is so nosey and has a tendancy to walk up people's driveways if I'm not paying attention!

He is also a bossy horse verbally and lets you know he's there if he thinks he's been forgotten or it's time to go out in the field etc.

So many things, I could go on for hours....
