What the bleeding 'eck is going on with the weather?? Aston a few weeks ago- knee deep in mud (less said about that event the better!) and last week, good/firm going at wiltshire college. And tonight forcast more rain and lows of 1 degrees, what next, snow??? But from what i have been reading, none of it has been putting you guys off!!
Work has been going really well, riding lots of lovely young horses and the odd ride on the more advanced ones, and tia has been getting better and better since i started eventing
Seems odd getting back into the swing of this eventing larky later in the season, but its like riding a bike isnt it!? Or so i thought as i pottered up to the water at aston, out first event, and almost flew over the handle bars when madam put on the breaks! Didnt even do the greatest dressage test- which the commentator so kindly pointed out when he read that i was a working pupil on a dressage yard!! Must have been tempting fate writing that.
So onto Wiltshire college last week, and it fell back into place. foot perfect dressage to score 28, might aswell have steeplechased around the showjumping she was going so fast! (must sort out breaks for showjumping) But clear, somehow! Then onto the crosscountry, decided after astons flop i would go for a different approach, razzed her up and nipped round in headly britannia style!! one combination in particular was catching people out, skinny 2 strides over a ditch to another skinny, didnt even batter an eyelid! flew through the water and finished 20 seconds inside the time.
Then after we were all safely packed up, was delighted to see we had won!
Maybe we still have it after all??
