little upset. Do I need a bigger horse?

You look fine on her. I'm 5'7" and have a 15hh mare and a 16.3hh gelding - before that I had a 14.2hh. I enjoy riding both of mine and that's all that matters. There seems to be an obsession with having huge horses, which I think is a shame. As long as you enjoy your horse, whatever its size, then stuff what anyone else thinks!
 
You look really good on her, I'm 5ft 3, 9 and a half stone, and ride a 12.3h NF, so does my daughter who is the same height and weight as me! ( She just rides better!)

I'm 5'8" and I feel comfortable on my 15.1hh anglo-arab and my 17 hand warmblood. As long as you feel at home on your horse, nothing else matters. Don't forget a couple of past olympic showjump champions that were only 14.3.......
 
I know someone who is 5'8, VERY slim - and still rides her 13.2 New Forest pony. They have had a great season showjumping this year - again - and go team chasing, hunting, the lot.

So nope you are most definitely not too big for your horse!
 
I think you look just right,really nice horse you have there,loving the clip! I wouldn't worry what people say as long as your happy with your horse it's up to you what height you have.
 
My young horse is 15.2 on tippy toes (without shoes though) at the moment and I'm almost 5'6 and I don't think it's a problem at all.

You look fine on your horse, they are probably jealous and it's a hurtful thing to say no matter no it comes out, especially when it is completely unfounded.

Forget about them and continue enjoying your horse

You look absolutely fine... I'm 5ft 5 and have a 14.2 and wouldnt want to go much bigger because I like to be able to get back on if I have to get off while out hacking!
 
absolute rubbish!! Dont need anything bigger at all!!¬ my mate has 14.2hh and is 5ft9!! - see pics below, IMO you actually look very well suited together. Now get yourself to Cricklands in the Senior Sections!!!! - friend loves riding there on her pony!!! (she is 34 by the way!!).

you look similar to how I look on my 15hh horsey, I'm the same height as you and a similar build. Just ignore them, you look just right on her!

my pony is 13.1 and im 5ft2 so yes i am on the bigger end of what she can take but if you and ned are comfortable its fine.

P.S your stars are FAB and very neat, great to see another adult enjoying and having some fun with their horses otherwise all the kids get to have fun with bum designs etc!!
atleast people realise your an adult though! they think im a child until they speak to me!! we are in the starry bum gang to .... :-)
