Liveries / Livery owners: restrictions on arena use

We have unlimited free use of the indoor & outdoor schools. There are a few restrictions, no more than 3 horses in either at one time (safety).
Either can be booked for sole private use but you pay for that. only a few pounds. You can bring your own instructor onto the yard without a problem but you must pay to have sole use of the school. Occasionally outside riders rent the indoor school, doesn't happen very often & normally in the winter, they pay £10 ph for it.

Well, there is only me and YO on our yard and we rarely want to both ride in the school at the same time (She doesn't use it much). So I have the school to myself pretty much. I always pick up dropings and put jumps away (not because it's a rule but becasue it's polite!). There are no rules as such that I have come across - I'm sure she'd tell me if I was doing something she didn't like!

At my old yard:

Between 3pm and 6pm weekdays you could only book for half an hour.

Outside of those times you could book it for one hour.

Only one booking per horse per day.

New yard - no restrictions at all.

at current place-can school, lunge, long line etc on it and jump.
there is only be and YO so hardly ever want to ride at same time.
cant turnout/let horse roll as surface needs looking after(but have got use of fields all day in winter and 24/7 uin summer so not bothered by that!)

We get given a chart on Sunday and can book when we want it for the week, then it is open to outside people to book.

Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7.30 it is reserved for the dog agility club who have been there for 20 years. I use those days to have full livery and a day off.

We don't pay anything extra on our livery and can have outside lessons. We can also turnout in it and loose school - surface is fine as we all poo pick and don't gallop our horses round like nutters.

There aren't any restrictions on use of the school, and we don't have to pay for an outside instructor, although the YO's daughter is a brill instructor so I have lessons with her.

We can do whatever we want in there but I choose not to loose school as the fence is a bit dodgy so he could easily get into the field full of yummy grass!

The only time we cannot use the arena is if a non livery has hired it and it paying for sole use. Its 60x40 so alot of people only book 2/3rds leaving 20x40 space.

When lessons are going on (most evenings) we can still use the arena but if a jumping lesson we have to keep out of the way.

We have to pick all droppings up and make sure lights are only on for the necessary time (we get fined if these don't happen)

We do not pay any extra for use of the school.

We can have visiting instructors but we then have to hire the arena like a non livery would.

there is no restrictions on how many are allowed in the arena but we are expected to use common sense!!

We can do most things in the arena but we cannot loose school.

It all seems to work very well and there is very rarely a time i want to use the arena and i can't.

Its only me and my YO on the yard and 2 out of 3 horses are ridden so there's no restrictions really, except perhaps if one of us have a lesson but mine are often with YO and YO's are often off site.

Usage included in my livery and I can lunge, jump, free school etc in it. I put jumps away if used.

We have unlimited use of the school & no charge for outside instructors or lights.
The rules are - Poo pick, turn lights off after use, put jumps away, no loose schooling & when you lunge move around so your not on the same circle.
You can book one lesson a week to use it privately & it has to go on the board. Any more than that & people can come in if they want to.
To be honest, we are a yard of 10, of which 2 are mine & most people are up during the day, so I've usually had it to myself in the evenings. There is one livery who's sharer sometimes comes up at the same time as me. Plus I will now have some company more regually in the evenings (which will be nice

We are a yrad of 60 and we have 3 schools to use one 25X40, one 30X60 and a lunging arena (that is alittle tight)

We can book the 25X40 school as much as we like before 5pm and the big school (jumps in) is bookable at any time of the day if you have an instructor - it does work quite well I just make sure if I want to jump with mum or something I get down there early on the weekend as most arent there till 9am anyway!

1 x indoor school approx 40 x 20 ish

Can use school anytime except when outsiders come in (usually at 5pm when everyone want to ride or on a weekend!)
light off unless needed as some people think they need them on i the middle of the day.

Lunge pref in the middle but not a 'rule'
can loose school but only if you know what your doing as last muppet who didnt broke all new jumps.
no extra charge
no outside trainers/instructors
YO sole use if jumping (not the space for others)
If im having a jumping lesson (as im the only one who does) I dont like anyone in whilst jumping but dont mind while warming up! as I pay for it and not enough space

Very easy going and nice school

We have one floodlit outdoor school 40 x 20 ish (not all weather)
We have to shut the gate and pick up any droppings, we are not allowed to turnout or loose school either.
We are told to use our common sense when it's flooded or forzen and are allowed outside instructors. Most people wouldn't dream of riding in the school if you are having a lesson or lunging but there's always some idiot that will ride when it's flooded or frozen.

Allowed to use the school whenever it is not being used for RS lessons. There are not dedicated times but if you phone up they will tell you when the school is free for the next two days. Also on monday/tuesday the RS is closed.

No outside instructors are allowed

We've only got one rule and that's you can't arrange to have the school to yourself for lessons or otherwise from 4 - 7pm. This works great and everyone's very happy.

Floodlit large arena, fenced, all weather surface.
No restrictions, outside instructors allowed.
Loose school, jump (put the jumps back when finished), lessons etc.
If you are having your horse out their loose ie. after being in...stay with your horse so doesnt eat fencing!!!
Pick up poos.
Be considerate to other users.
Very rarely does anyone seem to clash so usually you would have it to yourself.

Old yard you could use when u wanted as long as the "favourite" livery didn't want to use it as the rest of us would be told to get out - if she had a lesson or not, or as long as the owners were not turning out their horses in it. so not really much time to use it!!
new yard, can use when we like

our school is umlimited access inclusive of weekly rent except when it has been booked. outsiders can book the school. & no charge for intsructors (have non 'on-site'). No restrictions on what you can do, lunge, F/school etc

if i want to ride on an evening i will book the school & put '6:30-7pm Jess & Linx' then what im doing so lunging, lesson or will share. i use the will share as i dont mind people joining me because im just schooling.

rules:

pick up poos, clear away jumps
