Tilly had the vet up last week to finally treat her sacroid with Liverpool Cream (following an unsuccessful bloodroot ointment treatment). It didn't change at all on the first application, swelled slightly following the second application and was slightly sore following the third and final application last Friday. She is a tiny bit sore if you really poke it (I'd imagine she'd lift a leg if I tried to do a girth up (since it lies on the girth)) but otherwise the swelling has completely gone and the sarcoid just looks pretty much the same, maybe a wee bit bigger and flatter if anything but not really much of a noticeable difference.
The vet said to expect it to react (though some horses don't react at all in a visible way) and that it was likely to look very sore and swollen for a good few weeks (but again not always) and said assuming the treatment works I'll find that one day 8-12 weeks following treatment it will just drop off.
Just wondering if this all sounds normal and how other peoples horses reacted. Also, how sucessful has it been? Has the sarcoid come back or others developed?
