In the 'next day' photo, was a horse in over night? The 'bits' would upset me, is that the pellets or remenants of poo?

yes my 2yo and i had a hangover so no the bed does not as good as it normally would !!

i changed her from straw to this and i dont think she was very happy - i also need to buy the forks designed to be used with this with smaller spaces betweent he prongs !!

I would normally have got MR rubber glove out and thrown those dark bits out but felt too ill !! !

Fab! I think you could have prob soaked them even more and got more bedding aswell
smile.gif
They are lighter in colour than some other makes too, thank you for sharing!

yes just the only thing is then they dont absorve the wee etc enough and you end up having to add more bedding in the long run

Ah that I can cope with!!! I couldn't cope if the bedding looked like that.

I'm debating these for my two, one on mats, one will get mats very soon. I looked at the price per tonne delivery and it seems quite reasonable.

no it does go brown colour though if the horse is really dirty and you dont top it up very often !

One is immaculate and rarely wees, the other is normal.

Mare uses one bale of shavings every 3 weeks ish. Filly is on straw and paper at the mo, but shes coming home on Saturday.

Thanks for the pics. much easier for my little brain to get round!!! Did lay new bed today as still had too much straw left, so will either do tomorrow or Sat (depending on how quickly she run the bed down).

Dumb arse question now, but would it be worth chucking some water in a few bags the day before (to start them off before I lay them)?? What do you recon??

probably not a good idea as they will expand bigger than the bags !!!

i think the mounted police put them in a wheeklbarrow and do it so you could do that xx
