What can I say...

After all the wonderful things I keep hearing about Liverpool Wood Pellets, I finally saved up the pennies to swap from shavings...I ordered first thing monday morning over the phone, and I am STILL waiting for the damn delivery!!

Chased them up on wednesday to get an idea on time scale and they were meant to call me back...I've heard nothing since!!

I am SO DISAPPOINTED with them...how long do they normally take to deliver?

I had a similar problem with them last year. Then when they delivered they didn't call prior to arrival as requested (as I don't live at the yard). Plus despite ordering 100 x 10kg bags they sent 67 x 15kg bags (tricky when the order is being split between 4). There were also several (about 8) spilt bags.

TBH I haven't used LWP again. I have used Corley ever since. Fast friendly service, deliver when say and call before hand, plus they have a pallet jack on their lorry, so wheel straight in (perfect). Have never had a split bag and they have always delivered the size I have ordered.

I ordered LWP on line on a Sunday night, got a call from the delivery company on Tuesday saying that they could deliver the following day but couldn't say what time so we agreed that they deliver on the Thursday - 2 hour window - and a really helpful driver who managed to reverse a mahooosive lorry to where I wanted the pallet

he had about 2 inches space either side of the lorry while he did this!!

TBH, I think a lot of the delivery problems are to do with who is contracted to get the pallet to you in your area. This was only a couple of weeks ago btw

TBH I don't care where the problem lies. My contract was with LWP and the service I received was disappointing to say the least. Corley are the same price and the service thus far (have had 4 deliveries) has always been perfect, delivery within 48hrs (unless I've requested a different day). To me customer care counts. If you can't full fill the order, then be honest.

In defence of LWP - it is usually the delivery companies/pallet network that delay the delivery, not LWP themselves. They should have rung you back when you queried the delivery with LWP though!
Have you not had a call from any delivery company wanting to book a delivery slot?!

You are in Glos aren't you? If your pellets are coming via the same delivery company as mine then they could well be late - my first delivery was a nightmare but it has all gone smoothly since then

Thanks all, its not good to hear that others have experienced problems, but in some sense its good to know I am not the only one.

Frankly, if they have such problems with the delivery companies perhaps they should change to a more reliable company. I have tomorrow off so I am going to chase they up, if they can't sort it out I will be taking my order elsewhere

When mine didn't get delivered it had nothing to with the delivery company - they had run out of stock. Instead of being honest and telling me the kept lying and telling me it was going to be delivered on different days. It was only when I phoned and demanded my money back so I could go elsewhere that they managed to deliver them the very next day.

If it was the delivery people I could understand but don't lie to your customers as it just p*sses them off

. I would never use them again as I waited nearly a fortnight for my pellets from them and had to buy more bedding during that time due to their lies.

I had exactly the same problem last week - ordered on sunday pm supposedly for 48 hour delivery so I expected them on Wednesday. no phone call so i chased LWP. they promised to chase up and call meback - no return call. I rang again - they told me it was a problem withthe delivery company and promised me the phone number of the delivery co. No number given. So I mailed them a strongly worded email on Wed night. And on thursday morning they rang me to tell me they would be delivered on Thursday. They were. And when the delivery driver arrived (without a phone call) I checked the paperwork. the pellets were only despatched on Wednesday and the paperwork had been altered to an urgent ( 24 hour) delivery from LWP on the Wednesday. So the delivery company were not at fault. LWP had only despatched on the Wed after i had phoned and got annoyed. This is not the first time - in fact I have used them monthly since November and have had the same delivery issues on 3 seperate occasions. So am looking for another supplier. I buy at least a pallet load a month for the yard, I need reliability and I am afraid LWP are now just not reliable enough.

if you like wood pellets then you will LOVE "Puffin Pellets". I have tried them all and they are undoubtedly the best. They are more expensive than Liverpool but still cheaper than shavings, you will be amazed at how much more they swell up, go alot further and last alot longer ! definately worth a look. there is a distributor in sussex, Debbie 07810482320 (Liston Products t/a Puffin Pellets)

I have to say that I was rather pleased with the service from LWP (although might be speaking to soon), when we were in Staffs the order would always arrive within 2 days on board a lorry with a very pleasant and competent driver; when I moved over here, obviously the delivery company has changed and I had some problems, not so much with timing but with the delivery driver himself - I kicked up a fuss, got several very apologetic phonecalls and a promise that the lad will never turn up in my yard again - suits me just fine. I haven't had another delivery since then yet, so it remains to be seen if they keep their promise, but if not, I'm going to change supplier.
