Liverpool Wood Pellets

I've used both:
Economy are made using more hard dark wood, therefore not as absorbant and the bed looks darker. The Premium ones are softer whiter wood, therefore you get a cleaner looking bed and it is more absorbant. I always get the premium ones, but that is because I am a fussy bugger about madam having a nice white bed, but I do go through more of them as they break down so quickly. If I had a sensible head on, I'd go for the economy ones…
Hope that helps!

Cheers Perry Hill Bay!! Think that has anwered mine and wagtail's question very very well!

I will be ordering the Premium - I only have the 1 in this winter so cannot really afford to try both.

Thanks again!

I was converted well and truly to wood pellets last year but used a local feed store brand - waaaaay more expensive!

I love wood pellets - as you all well know - they are cheap, super fast to muck out, low waste, highly absorbant - I should be selling them!!

The only negative things I can find is that you don't get a huge comfy looking bed (but they are not nesting animals) and in the summer they can get dusty but this is more to do with my lot being out and the bed not being used regularly than any other reason.

The other draw back I find is in frozen weather when I find I have problems fluffing them up in the barrow. I don't like putting them in dry.

I've just laid my first bed with Wood pellets and have to say I'm quite impressed so far. I ordered the Primum ones and I don't think they look to bad -

Hopefully I will get on as well with them when the horse is in and I start mucking out!!

I started with the economy ones last winter, they were the first ones i used, they were darker and a lot heavier when wet. i didnt have another load from LWP as had delivery probs, but changed to another supplier with white wood pellets, much better bed and loads less dusty. i need to order another load for ready to bring them all in over the next few weeks so may give them another try at lwp. from the replies so far will give the premium ones a try this time. to be honest the price last year was very similar if you shop around, so will try ringing round again.

by the way they are fab to muck out, even the cow shed horse (his stables as dirty as a cow shed each morning in spite of any type of bedding !) i now just sprinkle a bit of bedding and clear it out off the rubber mats each morning, takes all of 5 mins each stable, with around 10-15 mins each stable at the weekend to top up and muck out. much much better then straw, shavings, hemp, rape seed straw, i've tried them all !
