Can anyone let me know the best way to put down a new bed with wetting the bed etc?

How many bags for a 13x10 stable?

Thanks

Rubber mats or concrete? How big are your bags of wood pellets? I've done a half bed on rubber mats, 10 x 10kg bags to start the bed. I've only added more bags after about 3 weeks as the bed just keeps on giving.

Easiest way is to open all the bags and throw them on the floor, then use a hose with sprinkler attached to wet them down. You don't need to soak, just spray them so the shiny exterior starts to break up. Then leave them for a few hours.

I use LWP and I lay the bags out and slit them with a cross - then add around 6 litres of water via a watering can per bag. If you google how to set up the bed - I think there is a good guide maybe even on the LWP site? I set up with 6 bags per stable and I add 1 bag per week to messy mare - clean pony only has a bag top up every 2 or 3 weeks as does other mare.
Best bedding for mucking out I have ever used. I spray with green gloop weekly to deodorise.

I use LWP in 12x12 stables on mats. I either empty 4 or 5 bags and sprinkle with hose pipe and leave for half an hour or slit the bags and pour about half a bucket of water per bag. Let them puff up and empty! I find they need about half an hour or so to activate properly and then see if I need to add any more water. Fab bedding I won't have anything else now. Got one clean mare and one filthy git and it works well for them both! Last year I took the poo out daily mixed the damp with the dry and only took the really wet patches out weekly, and kept adding a bag per week. this winter I'm trying leaving the wet for 3 or 4 weeks and emptying the whole lot of bedding and starting again. This method worked really well for my friend last year.
