How much is your livery going by - just the extra 2.5% of the VAT increase on 1st January or more because of the general increase in all costs 9 fuel, utilities, etc.

We've got to pay £10/wk more. Does that spund about right?

Jeez thats loads!! Im very fortunate in that our yard is actually owned by someone who doesnt run it as a buisness but as something to look pretty in his garden really (very wealthy older couple) on DIY so it wont go up at all. When I was on part livery it went up £10 a month :)

Ours went up in September, hadnt changed for about 2 years.
I spoke to owner the other day and he said its not going up for a while yet.

We are on par with other yards in our area so if he increased it he was just lose liveries, they would just go somewhere else!

Must be annoying that yours is increasing.

Whoops - spelling; that of course should be livery with a "y"!

I accept it has to go up because of the VAT + it is a training/competition yard too, not jusy DIY/full livery.

Ours goes up every year by about £10 a month. I've been at my current yard for 2 years - DIY livery has gone up each year, from £120 when I first arrived to £135 currently. I pay for a package which includes TO, BI and mucking out mon-fri which has gone up by £10 a month each winter. Haylage and bedding costs change according to how much YO buys them in for from her suppliers. The yard was put onto an electricity meter last winter so we all now pay £2 per month to use the arena lights in the winter.
