Hi there

I wondered if you lovely H&H lot could give me a hand with a Livery agreement or point me in the right direction of a website that does!

I keep my horses at home and i've just had a friend bring her horse to live, so she is self contained with her own stable, tackroom and field. We don't have a school, her payment is fully inclusive of water, electricity and muck heap removal.

We are both agreed that we'd have an agreement, it doesn't need to be too heavy, but i just want everything to be correct and in place.

If you could help that would be great....

Thanks in advance!

I think the BHS may have got a sample one on their website? not sure tho'. The main things you need to think about are damage, whether there is an excess which applies if your horse damages something, plus of course the awful issue of whether the yard owner has the right to authorise euthanisia if somethign awful happens to your horse and they are unable to contact you. Its important to get that bit sorted out to your satisfaction.

make sure you have commercial public liability, as you are the land owner if horse escapes you are strictly liable as the landowner, and she is paying you. you might need a change of use to commercial as well.
