Hi,

I'm currently working just off j34 M4 (Llantrisant) but live in Newport. I'm looking for livery somewhere within my commute so that I can get to the yard to ride on the way home without going massively out of my way.

The yard must be well run with good facilities and able to turnout most days all year round. Happy to consider all livery options but if DIY must be able to offer some form of help either end of the day, i.e feed and turnout in morning.

I'm currently on full livery at a lovely yard but mainly because of logistics I need to consider a move!

It's for one 15.2 very easy and straightforward mare and I'm also very friendly and tidy!!

Many thanks for any recommendations you can offer! :)

Have you tried any of the yards around Bassaleg? White Barn Farm, Cwm Hedd or Rebecca Harris's yard. All very close to Tredegar House exit of M4 and have good facilities. I think they all offer flexible packages

Shame you have a mare - my yard (as in where I keep my horse, I don't own it) would be perfect and is about 10 mins from jct 33 but it's geldings only.

Have you tried Stocklands? You could go down Llantrisant road to get to it and then on to Culverhouse Cross and down the A48 to get home or through Radyr and Morganstown to Jct 32. It's big but very well run and fantastic facilities. I'm not sure if they offer turnout etc but there are so many people I'm sure you could team up with someone to do one end of the day each or pay a fellow livery.

Other options would be straight across the roundabout at Jct 34 and into the lanes around Hensol / Pendoylan sort of area. There's a newish yard at Bryn Paullin's old racing yard that is supposed to be nice but lots to choose from in that area. Great hacking there too. I'm not too familiar with that area so can't give you any names sorry.

Ah yea good point, do you have any contact details or know where I can find any? Many thanks for the suggestions :)

Have a look on the facebook page "Livery yards are us/ Wales". Rebecca Harris is a member on there and I know there are lots of people that visit that page that have contact details for Cwm Hedd. The owner of White Barn farm is Mrs Shirwin/ Sherwin and her son is an agricultural contractor so could get his number from the "Farmers" section or "Agricultural Contractors" section of the Yellow pages. Old fashioned way, I know!!

Ahh shame! She's very non-mareish and is always turned out with geldings ;)

Tried Stocklands but they are full - thanks for your suggestions though, I'll have a look.
