I have been offered a job, and pending confirmation, i need livery in ciren asap! even a field with shelter will do, minimal costs haha! if anyone could help, much appreciated!
Does it have to be in Cirencester? I keep mine at a lovely livery yard outside Ciren but a number of people from Ciren come to this yard, probably about 20 minutes away? Hope you find somewhere!
You have got alot of choices - I hope you don't mind my frank opinions! Opinions are only mine, not fact - I'm not mud slinging just giving our honest opinions from when we were looking! I moved with the horses to ciren a year or so ago and was after DIY, these are the ones we had a look at:
the old kennels - good size outdoor school (no lights though), lunge pen, reasnoble and individual turnout and lovely stone stables. Hacking straight into ciren park which is simply amazing, and handy incase your horse isn't great with traffic. Hacking only 8-5 each day though. Not a cheap option at all, but is a lovely yard.
Fossehill farm - owned by the royal ag, plenty of turnout and lovely stables in barns. A canter track and good hacking into the park. No school although there is an endless rumor that one might be put in. A good budget choice esp if a school isn't so imp - there are many on nearby yards if you needed to hire one for lessons etc.
Old talland house - limited turnout, v limited in winter. Nice barn stables with indoor school (ablit hard and dusty) and outdoor school (unless they have pretty much rebuilt it then it is a health hazard and I wouldn't dream of turning my horse out or working my horse in it). Not sure what hacking is like tbh as turnout and schools took it off our list. They also have a horse walker.
Park Farm in sapperton - pretty sure there are opinions about that on here. Dangerous fencing and dodgy bills during the very cold snap last winter. Excellent access to park hacking. I wouldn't though.
Think Starzan has one in Coln Roger (if I remember rightly), facilities sound utterly amazing so I wish that she was closer!!
Greenhill - email me.
Plummers, in siddigton so pretty much ciren. No individual turnout when it came to the crunch, though have a good amount of turnout. Some older stone stables and a nice barn of stables too. You can hack onto the p-t-p course, not sure what other hacking options there are. 20x40 school of rather hard sand. http://www.livery-stables-cirencester.co.uk/
Withington - utterly amazing, friendly girl who runs the yard, every facility you could dream of. Waiting list. If you get to the top of the waiting list and get a space I will be mega jealous!!! Def worth a call incase they have a space!
Kemble farms - also royal ag owned. Part livery, looks smart.
Don't know anything about these, but they are close to Ciren
Some of the yards insist on you using their farrier. I would be exeptionally wary of this I have have seen the results of some of these farriers and they aren't pretty! (also be wary of one that stops you bringing on any instrctor onto the yard).
