Does anyone know or recommend any livery yards in East Grinstead area?

Preference to have an indoor school and good post/rail & electric fencing. Also someone available to school (dressage) if required.

Thank you!

I know Faircote stud near forest row/colemans hatch is gorgeous however a tad expensive. There's also a few private yards in frow that sometimes have vacancies- i used to live in forest row so went to one of them. GOOD LUCK:) finding livery can be so annoying

Hello, I can really recommend my old yard, only left as my loan horse went back to owner, it's in newchapel

Ah Woops didn't mean to post, sorry - its in new chapel, I think it's about 10 mins or less from east grinstead. The yard owner offers schooling as and when or regularly. The yard is lovely, lots of space, it has a great sand and rubber floodlit outdoor 60x20, which hardly even froze in winter, it was great! Lunge pen too. Post and rail and electric fence turnout and some outdoor stables some in a barn. Only thing is which you mentioned, no indoor. I loved it there :) would recommend - please pm me if you'd like contact details. Good luck with your search :)

Don't know how far you would travel from East Grinstead but Chailey Stud has a lovely indoor school. It's probably 20 mins from EG.

What about whitewoods its in Horne but doesn't take long the backways from EG and has everything you need including a indoor school.

Another vote here for Whitewood in Horne. Lovely yard with lots of facilities.

Thanks, yes I have seen this one online. Would you say it is super snobby and posh? as dressage yard with two international riders running it

Looks great but I wonder whether it would be too serious and snooty? I know of them but do not know Mark or Sean personally. Also I am very classical dressage not what they call dressage knowadays!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, my best friend has worked there for a few years so I have spent time on the yard. It is not at all super snobby and posh. I know of people who have moved to Whitewood after being in super snobby and posh dressage yards. The horses there are mainly liveries that do dressage but there are some family ponies, oldies and people who do parelli. The schools are great, huge 20 by 60 which is lovely to ride in, a massive jumping arena, lunging pen, horsewalker and an indoor school. Lorry parking, lovely huge boxes, nice turnout and nice staff. I am pretty sure it is only part and full livery, no DIY but not 100% about that. If I had the money I would keep my mare there and we are just happy hackers I wouldnt feel uncomfortable. It is in a really good location too. If you want anymore info then feel free to pm me.

Thanks very much, that is really helpful :)
Ive been on some right snooty yards before, which is why I asked as it does look lovely there.

I am having to consider moving for few reasons, mainly my stallion has no turn out where I am now and he is so easy and adores grass! I feel so bad for him. We just don't have suitable fencing, it is gutting. We did try last week and he is like a dope on a rope in a field......just eats but he plays with things (nothing to do with being a stallion any young baby would do this) and he pulled the tape down (it is not electric or post). So predicable really. I am so lucky as he is so easy, I do not want to treat him like a caged animal if he is totally fine to go out...which he is.
Also in the winter the indoor is used for lessons, so I think I am going to be pretty stuffed for riding :(
Also I need help with riding both of mine and seeing what other yards charge for riding on site is much cheaper than what I get charged per ride where I am!

what is their grazing like? do they turn out 24/7? my gelding goes out over night in summer and during day in winter.

I know of a wonderful yard in Newchapel called Quarry Farm stables.
Exceptionally high standards of care for the horses, lovely staff and owner, no yard politics whatsoever! The yard is superbly run and they offer schooling and lessons too :)

I believe they are currenty full but they do have a waiting list - www.quarryfarmstables.com

I have shared horses there for the past 6 or so years and would recommend it to anyone looking for 5* care for their horse. It is only part/full livery though, I believe.

They have a floodlit full sized rubber arena, show-jumps and solarium :)

If you want anymore details just PM me

The grazing is really nice. Im sure its all post and rail fencing. The surfaces in the schools are good and yes in the winter it would be a bit harder to school indoors but there arent lessons all of the time. They have had stallions there before and they have regular turnout. :)

Thanks very much. I like it there, from looking at the website, just a bit put off by the uber dressage-ness though....I have two great PRE horses so they would look in place but not sure I would hahahaha
