Could anyone help with suggestions about livery in edinburgh? Would only need to be a small yard with a school preferably but as close to edinburgh as possible as I'm going to uni there in September. Thanks :)

There's Lasswade Stables (google it couldn't tell you the website for the life of me!). I've never used them because mine have always lived at home but I do have a (novice) friend who uses them for lessons and seems to really like it there. There's also the old Icelandic place at Carlops(about 5 or 6 miles out of the city) that has now became a livery yard...again google it because I can't remember the address.

It's a start at least, hopefully someone who actually has their horse in livery can give you some better suggestions :)

Not lasswade! There's Edinburgh equestrian at Dalkeith park. Mountskip, oxenfoord, kirkettle, gowkshill, tower farm (also a riding school) swanston, all in Midlothian area - then there's the likes of cousland park and hodges in east Lothian way. Give me a PM if you like and I will give my opinion on any particular one you fancy looking at.

Agree with the above as almost all yards im thinking of need a car to get too. I know Morton mains and swanston is popular with students as it close to town, or if you wanted to travel a but thurther out there's hillhead near musselburgh and oxenford out by pathhead. Depends if you want DIY or. Full livery tho. Need any help feel free to msg me, iv seen pritty much every yard in ed/ mid and west Lothian

where abouts are you going to be staying, and can you drive or does it have to be on a bus route, and what kind of livery are you looking for? alot of uni students come to the yard i am at just outside dalkieth during term time and then take their horses home for the summer and the y/o is fine with that, let me know what your looking for and i will get back to you

^^RE: Lasswade - as I said, I've never been and it's a novice friend who goes there for lessons, I was just naming the only ones I could think of in or near the city, so you're probably better going with the advice of others :)
