I have bought a youngster (yearling filly), but I've started to lose confidence even though she is lovely I am really nervous leading her and I'm not getting as much time as I'd like to educate her. She's good to groom and picks up her feet, and will follow me around. I love her to bits and don't want to sell her so I'm looking at the option of putting her on livery somewhere that will bring her on until she is ready for backing. Any suggestions?
(she's a welsh section d, expected to make 15hh)

Hi, I noticed you haven't had any replies although you posted this a while ago. I don't know whether you are still looking for help. It sounds like you have started her education well, however I do understand your anxieties. I think it would be a good idea to have her on livery, even if it is specifically for youngstock but with services, and have an experienced and knowledgeable person to support you and your young one. Welsh D's can be a handful as well, so it is really important that they respect you and recognise you as their leader, rather than a play friend, or worse, a more submissive member of the herd! Whereabouts are you? If you are near Hertfordshire, then I can recommend a brilliant person who would definitely be able to help :-)

Hi, Thank you for replying. However, things have moved on for the better now. I have my confidence back! (I think i just had a wobble) and my Filly is doing brilliantly. We had a new livery move on to a yard who also has section D's, two of which are youngsters and she's been helping me along too. Its all working really well at the moment so fingers crossed it continues :)
