My horse is thought to have a soft tissue injury and is going for a scan later this week. If she needs box rest I will have to move her as she is currently on DIY on a very small yard where there is nothing else in during the day. She is not very settled in the stable , so needs to go somewhere quiet with a routine, ideally with barn type stables and a horsewalker. She will have to go on part / full livery as I also have another horse and won't have time to do two at two separate yards. The trouble is I've always done my own horses and just dont trust other people to do a proper job. Can someone recommend a yard in the midlands that can be trusted with a box resting horse and won't charge the earth?

Sorry to hear your plight .The midlands is a big area, where in the midlands.
When mine was on box rest a mirror really settled him, he was box walking and pawing but it all stopped when he got his friend in the mirror and he still loves it now 6 months on.

Sorry - should have been more specific! I am on Warwickshire / Oxfordshire borders. I have tried a mirror but she just attacked it continuously so I had to take it down. She still kicks the wall where it used to be three months later. She is not an aggressive horse, but quite territorial and I think genuinely a little claustrophobic. She is not too bad if there are other horses in too but it's a small private yard and the others are all living out at the moment, and will be out in the day all winter. I work full time so really wouldnt be happy just leaving her in unsupervised. She is in a small paddock at the moment till scanned, I just want to be prepared.

I've probably banged on about this often enough but before you go to the expense and upheaval of moving had you thought of a stable mirror? I've been amazed at the difference it's made to W, for about £35 is surely worth a try.
