My yard has now been open for 2 and half years and livery has always been £110 per month. Now due to the increases in electric, water etc i need to increase the price. So was hoping to put it up to £120 per month (DIY)
Does this sound ok?
Its for 40x25 sand and rubber floodlit school (no extra cost for lights)
Year round turnout not 24/7 but not limited in winter
Post and rail/post and wire fields
Still pretty much brand new stables (yard was purpose built)
Direct common hacking
Small ish yard (15 horses)
Lovely atmosphere (no politics - honestly!)

Thanks

Sounds fine to me, I think a £10 increase is justifiable in that time and it's still not too expensive

Sounds perfect. Wish you were near here as I would move to you like a shot.

Got so fed up asking for the school to be harrowed (not been done since October!) that I went out yesterday and today and dug all the mountains out from the sides and raked it all myself.

We pay £25 a week for a very poor service!

As a matter of interest which yard are you at in Berkshire? Is it near Windsor at all?? People are always complaining about the exact same thing at my yard and when I got there last night I noticed that someone had got the harrow out. So just wondered if it was you - and if so thanks

I think that is a reasonable increase. I was paying £130 three years ago for DIY with a rubbish school, flimsy stables and loads of politics!! That was east Hants and hardly anywhere off road to hack. Now in New Forest area and livery is cheaper and hacking brilliant.

I think that is very fair. We have to pay extra for our school which was neant to have been serviced years ago. Very good hacking, all year individula turnout - onto very crappy tiny field for £130 per month

My livery goes up every year - its only fair as inflation etc means cost of staff wages go up and if my salary goes up due to cost of living then it seems fair that livery owners should too!

Mine went up in Jan from 156 to 160 a month for DIY with excellent facilities and great staff.

No Im on one between Newbury and Reading. The other liveries are brilliant and we all get on really well. Its just the awful YM/YO. He doesnt have a clue about horses and is just plain lazy. I even had to buy and fence my own field for my mare and foal as he took over 6 months to sort one out for us.

Am seriously thinking of moving Gen but as I live virtually on the yard it would have to be for a really good place and I dont want to have to travel far.
