Could anyone recommend any yards in Fife area? I work in Rosyth and am moving to Dunfermline so looking for yards around that sort of area although don't mind travelling a bit further for a good yard.

I have 2 mares and ideally would like DIY with the option of assisted DIY if possible.

In an ideal world it would be a small-ish yard with clean year round turn out, safe, secure fencing and safe, dry stables. Off road hacking and a school with a good surface. It doesn't have to be flash just comfortable, well maintained and chilled out for my girls.

Also if anyone knows of yards that should be avoided in this area could you please PM me so I have a heads up.

Thank you for your help :)

barnes farm in dalgety bay has spaces for diy livery- girls there will help each other out. jumping field, dressage area, small sand school (which does a job in winter) and fabby hacking xx i live in rosyth too xx

Not moving "again"; been in Stirling 7yrs! :) Horses are both fantastic having a MUCH better year!!! Hope all's well with you. How's your new mare?

Thanks n_l_w, been texting FJ today so will ask her but like you say she's over the bridge and I don't fancy that much!

Thanks alfiesmum; could you pm me a number for them?

Thanks for your help

Very pleased to hear they are well. Laura Templeton's family have a livery yard somewhere near Dunfermline and *think* they may have an indoor. Not much help as I don't know the name of the yard but should be easy to find through maybe tack shops?

New mare is great and about to start jumping a few Newcomers. Was 2nd WH, won a flat class and res champion on her first showing outing last weekend so v pleased.

We also have another new one who is a seriously talented jumper (she should be as father and damsire both jumped at Olympics) and after 1 June we will try and get her Newcomers dc's for 2011 then crack on with some bigger tracks.

Hope the girls settle well and you have a great summer.

Hey,

Not sure about yards in Fife, although I think there are a fair few around, so some locals should be able to give you ideas to try!

You are welcome to come and look at where Hopalong is, but may be the wrong side of the bridge for you and at moment school surface is leaving a lot to be desired, although farmer is promising new surface... it is taking a long time. :(

i'm not that great with areas but my friend runs a yard in fife, near kinross. if your interested PM me and i can send you her details. its a small yard on a farm, great grazing, nice stables, small arena which is good for winter and fields to jump and ride in. my mate was a groom for a 4* eventer so knows her stuff. good luck on your search
p.s if my friends place isnt suitable i'm sure she know quite a few others in the area that i can aske her for you if you like.

Is the first mare a keeper? She's lovely!! Just need my numbers to come up. New mare sounds a cracker too. Good luck and hope you have a successful season :)

F_J - trying to avoid the bridge to make mornings as painless as possible - so not a morning person!!

Thanks Kez, have pm'd you!
