Livery in Kent or Essex - close to M25

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the re-post. I had asked about livery yards close to East London in September 2012.

I am new to London and desperately want to move my horse across as soon as possible but haven't found a yard I am fully happy with yet. Having taken the time to drive around, I have realised that Kent or Essex would do, so long as it is a 40 - 45 mins max drive from London. (so that I can get up during the week!)

I am looking for full livery and turn out for my gelding. Preferably nothing too big, with good hacking, I am not into competing!

I have visited around 12 yards so far and if I could combine them, would have by now found the perfect place!

Please let me know of any suggestions - everyone was so helpful before but it is just so hard to know of the smaller places that could be ideal if you aren't familiar with the area.

How about Woodredon? it's just off the Waltham Abbey turn off on M25. Full livery and absolutly fantastic hacking as its in Epping Forest.
 
Hi, thanks so much for the replies.

Manningtree is too far unfortunatley - google maps tells me it would be a 1.5 hour journey which would make a week-time visit impossible.

Woodredon is only 30 minutes away - have you got experience of the equestrian centre or do you know of any other yards in the area?

I used to ride there for 8 years and then worked there for 2 years. Knew some liveries too. My young cousin is riding there weekly too, so still go up every now and then. The hacking is amazing. You can go for hours and hours.
 
Thank you for that. I will definitely give them a call. The only thing that does put me slightly off is that it is a riding school so will be very busy and there will be a lot of children around. But the hacking sounds ideal.

Anyone else got any other suggestions please?
 
It is a busy yard. However there is an indoor school, a jumping paddock and an outdoor school, lessons do not go on all day. The livery block is seperate from the school block so the livery block does tend to be more quiet and the clients do not stray on to it. They do offer working livery though, so you may get the odd client come into the block to get their Horse for the lesson. The hacking really is superb (I will go as far to say some of the best hacks in the country!) you can go for hours and hours without having to step foot on the road, although you could do roadwork if you wanted. the forest is on the doorstep so its really your choice where you would like to ride. But you will never ever tire of it.
 
We are on the SETR toll rides in sevenoaks kent. Junc 5 M25 less than ten mins away. A21 two mins away.
Full livery at £75.00 per week, small private yard with my own gelding.
Hacking off road for hours! Within hacking of Sevenoaks Riding club grounds. Weekly shows/clinics in summer.
Yard close by for xc schooling, large outdoor school.
Ours is a small yard private, quiet yard with post and rail fencing, I live on site.
