As title really - we are moving house and I'd like to see whats recommended locally. I have heard Braishfield is good but does anyone know how much it is? If possible I would like part-livery with half decent hacking and all weather arena. And I need to be able to lunge my horses!

Any ideas/experiences very gratefully recieved!

Braishfield is very nice, indoor school, solarium, miles of really great grass gallops and XC jumps. Not a big yard either, and as far as I know no bitching (Uni friend keeps her horse there). As you might expect, it's pricey tho...

Woodhams farm isn't too far away, and is huge (50 plus horses). Fantastic facilities, indoor and 2 outdoors, plus fantastic hacking, but turnout is in very small individual pens. Also pricey.

Catherston takes a few liveries... they're Over Wallop. Prices on their website and fantastic facilities as you would expect.

Lovely yard just outside of Stockbridge, towards Wallop

And a few miles the other way

Where are you moving to? I`m in Stockbridge :-)

And http://www.thepriorystables.co.uk/Home_Page.html has a purpose built lunging ring.

Great - thanks guys! I'm moving to Kings Somborne and Braishfield was recommended to me. Any ideas of approximate costs for any of the above? I really hate phoning up just to sound silly when they quote huge amounts that I can't afford :(. ATM I pay just shy of £1k a month for 2 horses to have part livery including feed, forage, bedding, turnout and bring in and mucking out and rug changes. Can't really afford more than that! ANd OH would slaughter me if I did...

I`d be very surprised if any of them would be too far outside of that pretty healthy budget!

http://www.winchesterridingclub.co.uk/ A very friendly local riding club with lots going on :-)

I think its a silly budget but you would be surprised at the lack of care you get for all that money - I am not unreasonable in what I expect but I think that well-mucked out stables, horses rugged and fed properly and facilities that are fit for purpose are not a crazy requirement!

Man, I sound like a right whingy, awkward client!! I'm really not-honest!:D

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm likely to be moving into the same area shortly and wondered if it would be possible for someone to post the Braishfield details.

Ideally I'm after something with good facilities, but which can accomodate DIY as I like to do as much as possible for the horses myself. Having said that I work in London much of the time, so having the ability to 'add-on' ad-hoc requests from time-to-time would be very useful too. Thanks in advance.
