Hi

I've an interview for a job this week in Wellingborough so I'm looking at DIY livery yards and costs around the area, preferably towards Northampton.

Would prefer a school, but not essential as I don't have one now, but good hacking is a must!

And pref separate turnout for mares and geldings.

All ideas welcome :D

Wellingborough?? Oh dear poor you

However theres some gorgeous countryside round there and cant reccomend this place enough http://www.eastlodgeridingschool.co.uk/ - it used to have a seperate livery section when i was there

Oi Wellingborough is not that bad....can certainly think of worse places locally to live!?!

But have to agree countryside is fantastic! And East Lodge was alway good to me years back and have heard it has only got better ;) very much worth a try.

I am going to Ringstead on Tues for more horse grub so if you would like can have a look?

I have to say cost & quality are highly variable. I can think of one yard you might possibly end up looking at that is nearly £60 DIY - although that does include hay even at that price it's tightly rationed! If you end up looking more in the Rushden/Wellingborough direction pm me. If I don't know of the yard I expect someone on our yard will or will know someone else who does.

I've got friends in the Brampton's so I'm thinking more that way as that would be closer to where I'm thinking of living. Though if I found the perfect yard elsewhere I wouldn't say no!

East Lodge looks nice, but no DIY...

Ha ha well my dad worked in wellingborough for years, its not that bad just the town centre used to be really depressing.

Ive searched the bhs website for you and got these results https://www.bhs.org.uk/Riding/Find_A_Livery_Yard/BHS_Approved_Yards.aspx

might be worth looking through the yellow pages.

East lodge was brilliant - gave me an absolutley brilliant grounding for riding and they never held you back - I owe them alot

Thanks for your help guys, I shall head on up north later in the week to do some hunting around! As I need to find myself somewhere to live yet :s
Always putting horsey first :D
