hi was wondering if anyone could help me. I am relocating to the Corby area because of work promotion and need stabling and grazing for three horses. Does anyone know of any decent livery yards in this area that also have an arena and individual turnout?

Any suggestions would be very helpful as I do not know the area at all!

Thanks

There are some nice yards if you go towards Market Harborough - I'm not sure about round Corby as I think it is quite built up/industrial, but depending on where you will be exactly it might be worth you looking out Harborough way.

there is a yard at harrington, which isnt that far. Look on yell.com and that should come up with a few things. Unfortunatly there arent even that many decent yards in the Harborough area.

There's a big yard at Stoke Albany, not far away. I'm just outside Market Harborough, and although there are plenty of yards they are mostly private, like mine. Long story, but I'm not taking any liveries!

I know there's some yards round the Middleton / caldecott / great easton area, and ditto the yard at stoke albany. If you pm Ovidius she shoudl be able to help as I know she stables in the area.

Stoke Albany is full..... There is one just outside of Medbourne, all year turnout, indoor school and medical instructions on surgically inserting a broom up your backside so you can constantly sweep up! (Oh and dont forget the grills on the doors on the outside stables to stop the horses dropping hay onto the yard!)
Dont know of anywhere else that has any vacancies.

All depends what you are looking for? What standard/level of yard compared to your horses needs...

There are, as people keep saying not many "decent" yards around

Jakesmydog - why wont you take liveries? (you can PM)

trying to be helpful Ov!! broom handles can be surgically removed after all

OP there's a few in the small ads on here

though more market harborough way than corby.

Hi Ovidius, I've had four in the past, all a pain in the bum. DIY turned out to be "can't get over can you bring in" Thats how it started and eventually I ended up doing everything but ride.

One literally left their pony on the field and never came for 3 months! (even tho she lived down the road!

) One decided that shopping for new clothes etc was more important than feeding her horse and didn't turn up most days till the afternoon.

Last one.. She was rude to my family, critical about my kids ( all in late teens early twenties) Had a go at me for moving my horses from one paddock to the next without consulting her (apparently upset her mad horse)The list goes on really!
Hence I'm on my own, I have lots of friends around with horses so don't get lonely, and its bliss!
Another thing is I've only got 4 stables ; I use three, but my OH has taken one over for his motorbike!
