I had to move yeards a year ago and found a fabulous private yard with just one other livery and the owners horse. It is lovely and peaceful, but very much DIY. I have now got a new job that means a fair bit of travelling so unfortunatley need to move to a yard with some cover available. I can't afford full / part livery as I have two horses and not sure if I'd like it anyway (don't want to spark off a debate on this subject though!) so looking for somewhere which is basically DIY but with the option of part livery on the odd day, and services such as bringing in on others.

My priorities are:
Well fenced individual turn out (ideally 24/7 in summer, happy with a few hours a day in winter).
Floodlit arena, preferably 60 x 20 so I can practice my freestyle dressage, sad person that I am
Lorry parking
Nice stables, plenty of storage, secure tack room
Flexible service
Yard owner that doesn't suffer from bipolar disorder, or at least takes medication for it

Any suggestions?

Christmas_Clairy is opening a livery yard not far from Warwickshire College which sounds like it would suit you down to the ground - it has really nice facilities. I'm not sure if she has opened it yet and / or can provide cover for odd days, but it might be worth PMing her.

It seems like such a shame that you have to move yards now you seem to have found such a nice one. Would it be worth considering geting a freelance in to do the odd days (if you have already considered it!)?

Good luck finding a yard!

Thanks for reminding me of previous thread about new yard - will explore further

Sadly YO not keen on freelance as yard is practically in her back garden - I think her husband doesnt like a lot of different people coming and going. Not sure it would work anyway as I wont be doing the same thing each week so would be difficult to have regular arrangement.

It's a nightmare - current yard is lovely for horses - lots of nice grazing - but no good for me, and I need to earn money to pay for them!
