This is purley out of interest and not something I plan on doing *don't have the room!*. Was just wondering about it the other day. Say you had about three spare stables you wanted to have liveries in, how much would you be talking for insurance?

Contact NFU or one of the other specialist insurers & they would be able to advice you & quote.

lol I don't want to waste their time as as I said its not something I could do anyway lol as I only have enough land and stables for my own, it was just out of interest.

It costs me £800 per year for PL, and with Care, Costody & Control add another £400. If you want to hold yard shows add another couple of hundred.

Hey don't rule it out! - Not everyone wants grazing!

Where I keep my horse, we are on DIY (stable & grazing) The YO also rents a barn out that has 9 stables to a lad that has horses/ponies in for schooling, breaking etc and none of his go out.

Crikey who do you insure with??!! I have PL, Care Custody etc and Employers Liability, and tack insurance for several £000 for about a quarter of that - I'm with NFU, have been for years.

When I moved here from southern England I found the NFU office weren't sure what they did (!) and I had to work at it, but got the insurance I wanted in the end. I do everything (farm, house, livery, holiday rental insurance) through them and it's not expensive at all.
