Hi there,

Just wondered if anyone can recommend a yard near to Watford. I work in North London, so any in netween Watford and North London would be much appreciated.
Also, if any one has any feedback or been to South medburn, Grove Farm (stanmore), Lower Priory, Caldecote, Harts Farm, Bushey Hall Farm and the Edge Livery stables would love to hear. Pm if prefer..muchos thanks for any help!

I was born in Watford! Can't help much with yards as I haven't lived there for years! However I can help a little with Bushey Hall Farm, as far as I remember hacking there isn't great(well it wasn't when I had a pony on loan there years ago) stables as I remember were nice!
There is another near Radlett called Kendal Hall Farm (it may just be Kendal Farm) not sure what they offer now though - I used to work there before I moved to the Isle of Wight.
Depending on what you want you could also try Patchetts for livery, I learnt to ride there years ago when it was a riding school!

Hi, quick message about your livery post as i'm based where you're looking. I keep my horse at Nicoll Farm Stables which is 2mins away from south medburn. Excellent yard but only do full livery and minimal grazing so best suited if you are into your jumping/dressage. I also, have jumping lessons with the guy who runs caldecote and my he competes my friends horse for her. She has rave reviews about him and how her horse is looked after but I havet been to the yard myself. There is also Mote end Farm which is a really smart yard with decent grazing for such a central yard and patchetts but again neither are cheap. For a less expensive option try Frith manor equestrian centre. not as smart as any of the above but does have two ok outdoors, an indoor which isnt great but you can use to loose school when its horrible outside and turnout alternate days in winter. Hope that is of some use!

Thanks that is really helpful! Frith Manor is really near where I work, but my horse needs daily turnout. Really was looking for a DIY option with decent turnout, but that seems pretty rare round Watford where I live. Thanks for the recomendations - really helpful!

Have you tried LEC - they normally have all year turn out and nice indoor school.

I was there for 9 months including a full winter and they never shut the fields.

The only downside is that some of the fields are very far from the yard.
