Any ideas for DIY yards close to Wymondham, just south of Norwich? Looking for alternative options with better facilities. Musts include having a school and no tight restrictions on visiting e.g. I get down at 6am and back at 7pm, so sometimes do not leave until 9ish.

Please do not suggest Hill Farm or Whiterails, as the turnout is far to limited at both of these yards. Also aware of Anvil but not sure they currently has spaces.

My sister lives near there and keeps her horse on part livery a bit further away from the city so that she can have better turnout etc. The problem around that area is either very restrictive turnout at yards because it’s so close to the city, livery yards not accepting DIY so that they can have more control over their limited turnout, or people just renting you a field for DIY but then there’s no school!

Your best bet will be to post on “All things horsey Norfolk” Facebook page.

Also, here are two yards near you that you didn’t mention. I know nothing about them so can’t reccommend them unfortunately and one only does part and the other says it’s full.... so not much use for now but maybe get your name on the list? There are also a few serious dressage yards around there if that’s your thing?

Sorry I can’t be more help. I can recommend more further out but don’t know that area personally.

Good luck!

I just realised how close you are to High Ash Farm! The facilities there are AMAZING!! Couldn’t say anything about how much turnout etc or what it’s like to be a livery there but I’ve been there to hack and it’s beautiful to look at!

Unfortunately I’m not going to be in the market for full/part anytime soon so that discounted Cadges when I first moved them - but 100% agree there is no perfect yard this side of Norwich.

The snazzy dressage yards are sadly all full or higher end of part.

I’ve been on the waiting list for High Ash for about 3 years and not near the top of the list yet 😂 regularly pop over to ride but having seen the horse flies they get - I have never seen anything quite like it!

I'll ask my friend who owns Old Hall Farm for you. I know it's 15 miles away but she's quite well connected over that way and she may know of someone. I do know that those communities around there have very active FB pages. You could ask on there?

That would be excellent if you could! I am part of All things Horsey but not seen any livery come up for a while this side of Norwich. I don’t really want to advertise on there as my current YO is the type who i think would become not so pleasant if she knew I was looking elsewhere and aware she’s on the group :(

DIY livery in south Norfolk is in very short supply! Would you consider assisted livery as most yards in the area wouldn't want horses turned out for that length of time in winter?

I have considered part/assisted, but there is equally few yards and do not have the budget for two on full sadly
