Hello
New to the area and looking at moving my gelding down in the next few months. Looking for a friendly smallish yard with year round turnout and access to a school. Any advice very kindly received
Thanks in advance

You could try Crockers Farm, which is just outside Newton Abbot on the Totnes Road.

Or go into Leonard Coombe or Redpost and see if they have anything on their notice boards and speak to the staff to see if they know of anything around.
It's a very horsey area, so you should be able to find something suitable.

also try the notice board at Mole valley at Heathfield. Often places on there and ask the staff there as well. Also Tuckers in Ashburton.

Do you want to hack? If so then south of the A38 Newton, Ipplepen and downwards areas are not so good. North of the A38 is a lot better. Obviously depends which side of NA you are and how far you want to travel to livery.

a lot of people come to S Devon with their horses and find a fair amount of the riding down there is poor.

ETA I'm sure Beausmate will be along shortly to tell you about the hacking. :D:D

There’s Holbeam near Newton Abbot and Rydon near Ogwell/Ipplepen, I would think the hacking would be limited. Hayes Farm at Ideford will have much better hacking. I am out of touch so unsure of the status of these three yards post covid but they always were busy and popular.

Mark Bosanko, also close to Newton Abbot occasionally advertises spaces. 😊
