my yard owner has given some liverys notice as she has given the notice do we have to pay it if we leave before the months notice starts or could we pay weekly for the last month ? does anyone have any ideas ?

Do you mean can you leave without paying to the end of the month if you find somewhere else?
A lot of people say if you pay weekly you give a week's notice, if you pay monthly you give a month... Personally I think that, instead of just chucking you off with no notice, the YO has been fair enough to give you a good notice period, you should be fair back..

Why has she given them notice? Probably not strictly relevant but would love to know!IMHO if you've been told to leave, you should only expect to pay for the amount of time u stay on yard after being given notice. YO can't have it both ways. After all that livery space could be filled and paid for by a new person in theory. Would be different if it is the horse owner choosing to leave, then u should pay all notice period even if u leave earlier.

As a YO, giving an Owner notice to quit I would give you a month's notice from the date you paid your last livery.
I charge fees a month in advance, so, you would have already have paid for that month, if you left before that time was up I would refund you the amount of days you hadn't used. So, for example, if you paid $310 a month ($10 a day) and stayed 21 days I would refund you $100.
If, on the other hand, you gave me a months notice and left 10 days into that month then I would not refund you anything at all.
I think the easiest way to sort out how much/how you should pay is to actually ask.

we pay pcm so on the 1st of the month for the month , she has given notice of 28 days notice but she gave it two days of the month already paid ! so would that mean that we would only have 26 days of the new month to stay and pay for ?? and in my contract it says both partys should give 1 months notice I however am quite happy for it to be oly 26 days but want to know if i left before these 26 days end do i have to pay for all the days as its not me that has given notice !! I would pay for my whole month if it were me giving my notice and leaving but its not.
