Hi

Does anyone know of any livery yards around Luton/Beds/Herts?

Wish list (in order of priority) -

1) Good school (not deep!) - must be able to bring own instructor!
2) Nice Liveries (not b*tchy)
3) Secure yard (pref with YO on site)
4) Big Stable/Good Grass
5) Secure fencing (solo or in groups)

I'd prefer assisted DIY or 5 day part livery (no exercising) as pony is COPD and it needs managing carefully.

Thanks

Ponymad x

There is a nice, fairly small yard quite near me that does assisted DIY. It's called Nicholls Farm and it's in Redbourn. The guy lives on site, they have a fair amount of well fenced grazing and a school and the hacking is good. Don't know about the instructor thing though. I saw several ads for livery near Luton when I was up at TC Feeds the other day but don't know any of them personally.

There is Manor Farm - just off the 505, you go as if you are pulling into the cemetory then keep straight on that road.
It has a school and know there are 2 stables - £90 per month i beleive.

They actually have 2 yards - Manor and Whitehill -Whitehill has the school, but its a 2 min trot up the road from Manor to Whitehill to use the school.
Whitehill has no spaces but u can go on the waiting list to switch from one yard to the other.

There is also Stopsley Holes - but further out but LOVELY yard - one box left £20 per week. I left Stopsley Holes in April to move to Somerset an i miss it! I would reccommend!

Also the yard in Lilley - was there for a while as an interim move and it has nice facilities and yard owner.
I can also tell you 2 NOT to go to if you pm me.

ETS -I lived in Luton myself so all these yards are prob as local as you will get.

Just seen you wanted part livery - All the ones i have listed are DIY but i know Stopsley Holes has a lady that would do services.
Think the stable they have left is the smallest one but i had a 16.1 in there and he was fine.

Hello. There is Thrales End farm which is in Harpenden. They do part livery and have a school and private fields to ride around. It's a nice yard with about 18 horses and the owners live on site. Good luck with your search.

I am looking for a lovery yard in the Lilley area too because the hacking seems great.

-Would either need part or assisted DIY
-all year turnout
-school with lights (prefer all weather surface)
-would like to bring own trainer

Tried googling but not much luck.

The three up there are Chalgrave Manor, Griffen Farm and Grove Farm, they all have the facilities you need - been on 2 but not the 3rd pm me if you want more info. The hacking is mainly around farm tracks but with a little road work you can get out for quite a decent hack.

Yes Church Farm does still exist as I'm there now. Fantastic place with friendly people and floodlit menage. The hacking is amazing with virtually no road work.
Unfortunately, we have no vacancies at the moment but if you want to pm me with your telephone number, I can pass it on to YO if a vacancy comes up.
