Hi there

I am hoping to move to Pontardawe next summer and I am looking for any information about possible liveries, recommended farriers, vets, dentist etc

Any information will be greatly appreciated

I live near there, and used to keep my horse in Trebanos (next to Pontardawe) at Green Farm Stables, was DIY when I was there and think it still is. There's some good hacking from there along mainly country roads up to the mountain. As far as farriers go, I can recommend Lee Burnett, not the easiest to get hold of, but a great farrier. As for vets, I'm with Dyffryn Tywi Equine practice, but there are a good few others. Hope that's of some help to you :)

Not sure of liveries around the pontadawe area.

i live in pontardawe and can also recommend Chris Needs as an excellent farrier, im also with dyffryn tawe vets theyre brill. there are quite a few livery yards ive been to a few most not great , pm me as id rather not comment on yards on here but can point you in the right direction, depending on what you need.x:D

Loads of liveries in the area - for example, penlan farm, huw's up on gellionen mountain and green farm. The riding
Is wonderful - everything from a twenty minute off road through the woods to all day hacks up towards Ammanford or towards crynant. I too use Lisa and Phillipa at Dyffryn tywi - can't fault their service at all. I really think you're spoilt for choice for farriers.

Wow, thats great, thank you for all the responses, I am really grateful! hopefully I'll get to meet some of you when I move up that way, you have all been so helpful:)

Just wanted to add to other msgs for people in this area really - Chris Needs is a fab farrier, he covers Porthcawl/Bridgend area too. He is very reliable and Suzi my cob who was a bit of a nightmare for previous farrier loves him. I found him very recommendation from a friend and now my friends all want to use his service too.

I live in Swansea and my farrier is also Lee Burnett, both mum and I use him.He is very kind and patient with the horses, and he is one of the highly qualified farriers, specializing in Theraputic and surgical stuff.:)
