Has anyone's livery gone up this year or is it going up in the winter?
We have D.I.Y. liveries our price includes - in winter - stable, turnout (all year whatever the weather), hay or haylage and straw and use of all weather arena. They currently pay £32 winter horse, £30 winter pony and £22 and £20 in the summer when living out.
We are thinking of putting these prices up by £2 this winter, mainly because of increased cost of diesel affecting haylage production costs.
What is everyone else paying and how much do increases in livery costs hack you off?
We are in the North East b.t.w.

I pay £20 per horse for stable field and adlib hay.... our YO took in another livery this year so he didnt have to increase our livery costs.

My livery has just gone up £10 a month and the farmer I get my hay from has told me it it going to be 50p a bale more expensive this year due to diesel and fertiliser cost increases. That I don't really mind as we all know how much everything has gone up - what I do slightly object to however is a £5 a month increase in the charge for parking the horsebox! That I think, is taking the p**s a bit

Ours is £48 per horse with same facilities, and turning out, stays the same through the summer after all that is when you make your money

full livery has gone up,but she was seriously underpricing herself!
No it dosnt hack me off when the price goes up...especially under the current circumstances with the economy, they have to make a living same as us

I pay £20/week for stable field and water. No electric. I would be seriously irritated if the rent rose significantly, not least because virtually all the maintenance is done by us, the tenants.

That is understandable and dont think your price will rise due to that fact

My DIY livery usually goes up every year, not by much and although I wish it wouldn't, it doesn't hack me off at all. People have to live after all.

However, that £5 increase for parking the lorry (in Jane_lou's post) would get right up my nose!

My livery has recently gone up £20 a month for full livery to cover costs. I don;t mind too much though as it hadn't gone up for over four years so can't really complain.

I would be a bit rattled at the £5 extra for lorry parking though.......

We were advised in June by our YO that livery will be going up in September. I understand why livery may have to go up but I just wish she's tell us by how much?

Buisness Rates Electricity and water charges rise every year- if any forage feed or bedding is included, then these need to be taken into account.
£2 a week more sounds very resaonable

Your prices seem quite cheap! I own a small livery yard which has: newly built large stables, all year turn out in post & rail paddocks, outdoor arena with semi professional surface, for this I charge £25 per week and then £6 per week for haylage share on top, I order huge straw bales from the farmer which has gone up to £50 per bale but lasts 1 horse 2 months which the liveries buy themselves. I don't charge differently for a horse or a pony unless I have them on full livery then this is altered accordingly. I will be increasing my DIY in Jan 09 to £27.50 per week
