I will be moving my mare to uni with me in a couple of weeks and the yard she is going to has just increased there livery to £190 a month including Haylage, it is a DIY yard, with 20x60 school, horse walker, lunge pen, 150 acres, indoor stables and is in Fife Scotland.
Where she is at the moment it is about £100 a month plus hay (£3) and it is DIY with all year turnout, 24/7 in the summer, 20x40m arena, lunge pen, indoor stables and is in Berkshire.

Am just wondering how much everyone else is paying and their facilities, as my friend who is already at the yard in Fife is thinking about moving as she thinks it is too much.
Thanks for your help

Different part of UK but I pay alot more £240 a month for DIY - not including haylage. We have a 20 x 40 all weather floodlit school. Solarium, power shower (for the horses

). Heated rug dryers and plenty of storage - but no trailer parking etc - oh and all year turnout.

I pay an awful lot less than that but then don't have a horsewalker or lunge pen, just a school and farm ride. I'd say thats a lot but then maybe I'm stingy

that price doesn't sound too bad to me, considering that the haylage is included and there are obviously good facilities. But then I am a commuter belt southerner, so anything seems cheap

See I agree, I dont think it is that much as it has better facilities than my current yard but just interesting to see other prices around the country.

Current yard is £60 a month for DIY - stable, own field for own horses, storage for up to 100 bales of whatever, feed space, tack space (secure), crappy school but 5 minute hack to great school/gallops, mediocre riding with next to no off-roading.

New yard is as near as damn it to £110 a month. There are extra large, fantastic, newly built, airy stables, very well drained field for our own horses (post and rail), rug room, tack room, at my request there will be a feed/hay room when the place is finished, and when they have finished harvesting they start working on their 40x20 floodlit school. There's a 120 acre farm to hack around on and brilliant bridleways everywhere! Nice lane rides as well.

My mum pays £120 a month for my pony on DIY. I have use of horse walker, 3 schools, large stable, group turnout and a storage area to keep hay and straw. We also have a feed room as all yards do plus a tackroom which i dont use because we are not insured for it to be in there. We dont really have good hacking but we can box up and go out. On the downside there is no assisted DIY from the yard owner but everyone is willing to help and its on clay soil.

Small DIY yard (8 horses max) £105 a month for stable own lockable big store room unlimited use of UNLIT sandschool which never floods, good hacking and lots of well draining grazing (24 hrs in summer if wanted). It is about £20 a month cheaper than the going rate around here though (East Surrey). No field maintenance but have to do field water which is right by the gate anyway. Only really missing floodlights on arena other than that it is perfect! No hay or bedding included.

I pay £84.00 per month for DIY (just box and field). Has all year turnout and an outdoor school which is not very waterproof so can't use after heavy rainfall. Storage is limited but hacking is ok.

At a previous yard I paid £40 per month for grass livery, no storage, but use of small outdoor school and hacking was good.

A bit further down the road another livery yard I was at was £84.00 per month. Fields were awful during winter, just mud, no school although there was a field with some jumps in but hacking was good. Storage was ok.

And a bit further away I tried another yard which was £100 per month, haylage £8.00 per week or £3.00 per bale of hay. Hacking was poor I thought but the outdoor arena was good. The fields were well kept but prone to flooding not good in this rain happy part of the country so turnout could be limited. Good storage

I am in Fife and pay £185 per month for DIY livery with own box, this includes haylage and straw. Indoor school with £1 meter for lights, outdoor and newbigger indoor to be open in 2 weeks. With new full set of jumps to come.
Turnout in groups - fenciong not always 1st class but my boy wlks through wire and electric fencing - but they are addressing this!

Hacking is ok, not miles and miles but a couple of hacks and fields to ride in.
Onsite tack shop and feed supplies - handy as you dont have to lug in and out of car.

Downside is they wont allow external instructors on yard to teach - you are to use their AI's or go off site, bit of a bug bear with me a moment and am not sure if I can live with that as no transport!!!! And hate not having choice.

Let me know where you are going - PM me please as I thought my yard was the dearest in Fife......

We have a livery yard in Central Scotland and for £24/week clients get all year turnout in small numbers in huge fields, sand turnout paddock, floodlit rubber 20 x 40m arena with jumps, fields to ride in in summer, storage for up to 3 tonnes of hay or bedding (can buy hay/straw off field at huge saving) plus own large areas for other items, secure tack room, free trailer or lorry parking, feeds & haynet put in am and night check pm, good hacking & easy access to motorway network for shows, 24 hour security etc. I'm an AI and always on hand plus other instructors are welcome. We have very very little turnover and have clients who have been with us for 15 years, 11 years, 8 years etc

I guess that works out at £96/month.

I'm up in Angus, Scotland. Our yard owners built a new stable block for 24 horses. They pay £42 per week. For that they get unlimited straw and hay, automatic drinkers, locker room, tack room and feed room and kitchen. Horses are either 24/7 turnout (in summer) or put out in morning and brought in at night. They have large all weather sand school and fields to ride in.

My boy is at the original farm part of the business. We have a stable but have to fill up buckets of water. Out 24/7 in summer and limited in winter, weather permitting. We have a grass paddock and fields to ride in. If we want to use the sand school we have to pay £5 for an hour. At the farm we pay £27 per week.

A few at the farm are on grass livery all year and pay £17 per week.

At my previous yard, they now pay about £55-£60 per week (depending on size of horse) with unlimited hay and straw but no turnout.
