That sounds pretty good. I pay £30 pw for stabling and grazing. No other facilities but fantastic off road hacking for miles and miles and that includes all hay and straw.

It goes down to £20pw in summer with 24 hours turnout and therefore no straw and hopefully no hay required.

christ i'll be there in the morning with my horses with them faclities and at that price

(actually no i won't i like my yard too much but if i was looking!!!)

Where is it HLB?

I can name a few places NOT to go to.

I ask mainly because you mention the gallops - is that Martin Pipe's place or the one in West Buckland?

TBH with you, I think for this area £30pw could be slightly pricey. I think it is reasonable for the country, but there is another yard in the area - Culmstock I think - which has solarium, horse walker, stabling, YR turnout, school (I think), good hacking (some off road), good storage - it is £18 a week.

I have never known a DIY yard round here that charges more than £25pw - a guy in Langford Budville with indoor and outdoor on a good yard, charges £25pw.

I am probably wrong, but I wouldn't pay £30 a week for DIY.

I currently keep mine in Huish Champflower with direct access to a bridleway, good hacking up to Exmoor, indoor and outdoor schools, good stabling and turnout, good storage and secure tackroom, kitchen/snug area, assisted services. OK so there's no horse walker or Solarium, but I pay £18 a week for that.

we pay (per horse)
£110 per calendar month payable in advance. Haylage £10 per week. Shavings £6 per bale. Straw £2.50

for all year round turnout
decent size stables plus an empty stable to store feed/grooming kit
a locked tackroom
indoor and outdoor school
reasonable hacking
YO lives on site
office/brew room/loo!

Pricey? Are you serious. Flipping heck is it anywhere near Solihull - I'm on my way!! No seriously I pay £44 per week DIY and get indoor stabling, indoor horsewalker, solarium (£2 for half hour)massive school approx 65 x 45m small indoor lunging, 55 acres post and rail, naff hacking but very local to loads of good riding clubs. Free haylage/hay included in the price and one turn out or bring in weekdays, turn out weekend and bring in £2.50 each way, trailer £2.00 per week on top. Happy ish though but would have to leave if prices went up.

That sounds very good to me, I pay £90 pcm for stable & field, NO school, no facilities, nothing included, lovely off road hacking but haven't been able to access it because of weather, too wet, have to exit yard via main road which is not pleasant at all ! I'd gladly pay £30 a week for thoses facilities !

I wouldnt pay £30 a week for turnout 9 months of the year. I wouldnt move anywhere which didnt have AYTO, or at the very least every other (full) day or half a day in winter.

Not sure if HLB is aorund phantomhorse, but I know she is reasonably local to me so it will be around the Wellington/Tiverton areas of Somerset/Devon.

I stand by what I said because I know the area - £30 is expensive for the area and that is probably made worse by the fact that yards a ten a penny round here. Yards with good facilities which charge been £18 and £25.

I went to look at a full livery yard with tip top facilities - amazing yard - and that was only £80 a week. Everything included apart from riding!
