I am thinking about either buying or loaning a pony and although I live on a farm and have plenty of fields, I was thinking about keeping him at livery with better access to training facilities and a more sociable atmosphere. It would also mean he would live with other equines and not sheep or cows at he would at mine.

What are the going rates for livery, DIY, part and full? I've no idea as I've not kept a horse at livery before. I am in Kent and would like somewhere with a flood-lit school ideally, so any ideas of average cost would be very welcome.

Thank you!

IME it's about £25-30 for DIY, £65 for part and £100 for full. Be prepared to be dictated on as to what bedding and hay(ledge) you can use so cost may be higher than you expect...

I am currently paying £400 for a horse. Looking to move though and prices are coming up as between £450-580! That is for full livery.

Depends where you are. Here in the Surrey hills you are looking at £460-£500 part (everything bar riding, grooming, wormers, hold for vet etc) or £600-£950 for full!! We don't have DIY but grass inc hay year round is 280.

Kent sounds like west Sussex so take about £100 a month off my figures!

Crikey..where in the Surrey Hills? Part livery I know is more around the £535 to £600 mark and around the £750 mark for proper full livery.
